Introducing various types of nonwoven raw materials

2024-09-24 17:35:11

Nonwovens, you must be familiar with it. These are not fabrics you could make a shirt out of through weaving or knitting these are alien materials. Non-wovens, are in fact made by bonding fibers together using a myriad of methods. Or, to put it more clearly: they lack the threads that make up woven fabrics. While fibers can be naturally occurring, as in the case of plants which synthesize them and contain nonwoven material such cotton (or man-made like polyester that go through numerous chemicals processes). The scope in which these materials are applied is not limited and can be found anywhere we turn our heads to.

Pros of Synthetic Non Woven Materials

Synthetic materials are actually nonwoven and made up of artificial fibers (polyester, polypropylene). They have many advantages over traditional materials, and as they are tough enough that desirable for heavy-duty this makes them the best. They are not water absorbent so great for Medical Consumables, shopping bags, nappies etc. This means your items will stay dry during the pouring down rain, and for most people this is a solid benefit.

In addition, synthetic nonwovens can be manufactured colored or printed almost arbitrarily. That makes them perfect for creating 3D objects such as toys, party decorations and more. Versatile pieces that can be styled to suit every event or occasion.

Natural Non-Woven Products Beneficial for Environment

On the contrary, Natural non woven materials are either coming from plant or animal and it is composed by fiber. One of the most common natural nonwovens is cotton. Cottons are soft and breathable, mostly used in baby clothes or bed products.

Bamboo: Another popular, natural choice. All the bamboo nonwoven fabrics are biodegradable as they decompose very easily without leaving polluting agents of Earth. They are impermeable to germs, moisture-wicking meaning a towel or yoga mat would be disgustingly non-damp never mildewing/antibacterial in terms of material. Bamboo being more eco-friendly it delights my hearts every single time to know that we can help bring a healthier environment just by considering the materials.

Uses of Spunbond Nonwoven Materials

Spunbond Nonwoven ropes are created by spinning fibers, which can then be bonded through heat or chemical. They are often used in the building trade predominantly for roofing and insulation uses. As such, they help maintain the safety and energy efficiency of buildings; making them a critical component within the building industry.

Hospitals too, use PP Spunbond material by Topmed in hospital gowns and mask. They are cheap lights and liquids proof, which is important where hygiene matters most in healthcare. The material also are protective of patient and doctor safety which is very important during any procedure.

Spunbonded Nonwoven Fabrics For Special Uses

Meltblown Nonwoven is made by melt blowing the waste PET bottle. It is an ideal filter and insulator as it contains extremely fine materials. The outer shells can therefore catch small particles and then use them to keep hot, but no so cold.

Face mask Meltblown nonwoven is commonly known for the production of Face Masks. It works to filter out undesired particles such as germs, dust and we know that this is one of our main needs especially in these current times where COVID-19 has been on the dangerous rampage throughout the entire world. For the placement of masks for a low transmission rate, which clearly illustrates its importance on public health community.

Non-woven materials are very practical and can lead to many solutions. Non-woven materials, are replacing traditional synthetic materials with biodegradable natural solutions for lower environmental impact. Spunbond materials may be used in construction and hospitals, while melt blown products often are a component of face masks. It is beyond my cognates that these filamentary chains have and will continue to shape the entire structure of our existence; better yet, reshape this world for good.
